Day 16: Bunmi

Day 16 of 30. We’re halfway through people, don’t know whether to be happy or sad… :’)

Bunmi is beautiful… I feel privileged to be able to say that seeing as she prides herself on being an anonymous blogger/tweep. I was allowed into the ‘glorious sanctuary” of her instagram *cue hallelujah chorus* Sshhh… It appears she’s a bit shy. See for yourself…

The hardest thing about writing this post is putting myself out there. “But isn’t that what you bloggers do?”, you ask. Yeah, I’ve gotten comfortable with my way of saying stuff without revealing much. So, I’ll tell you a story, from the chapter of my life in late Summer/early Fall 2013:

Night float is the absolute worst for him. It’s bitter sweet for me though. While everyone is on their way back from work, I ride against traffic in the direction of work and get to spend the next 12 hours doing what I love best, but i have to leave him behind.

Tonight I wager 6: 3 boys, 3 girls. He usually gets back at 5 pm, but from the pitter patter outside, I know he’s back. He usually gets home an hour ahead of time so he can spend a few minutes with me before I leave. We spend the week at mine during this period, not for anything special but because it’s easier for us traffic wise.

Ife mi.

I can’t seem to get enough of him. I had pushed for us to live together, but he wouldn’t budge. Too much common sense in that thick skull of his. So we reached a compromise. Every other weekend at his, night float weeks at mine.

Mine.

I loved my spinster’s pad. It’s everything I ever dreamt it up to be. The biggest thing I love about it is the privacy. No annoying roommates, no annoying landlords, and for the price, it’s actually a steal. I finally decided to live 10 minutes from the hospital. My den doubles up as my study/home office. It’s the soul of my businesses. How I’ve managed to juggle working 80hrs/week with a side business, I wouldn’t know.

Enough of the day dreaming, time to prepare for work.

“Have you packed yet?” His voice jolts me back to reality

“Nah”

Can’t blame him though. He has been looking forward to this vacation for ages. 7 days, 3 cities, 2 of us. We finally decided on the destination of our first annual vacation. We’re doing London, Paris and Italy. I know it sounds like we’re doing too much, but we’ve spent so long apart, that we’re making up for lost time.

My greatest goal this year is peace though. Peace on every side, just like he gave Israel . “And the LORD gave Bunmi rest on every side, just as he had solemnly promised her ancestors. None of their enemies could stand against them, for the LORD helped her conquer all her enemies”. (Joshua 21:44 NLT)

“And I will make their land famous for its crops, so my people will never again suffer from famines or the insults of foreign nations. In this way, they will know that I, the LORD their God, am with them. And they will know that they, the people of Israel, are my people, says the Sovereign LORD. You are my flock, the sheep of my pasture. You are my people, and I am your God. I, the Sovereign LORD, have spoken!” (Ezekiel 34:25-31 NLT)
