Day 9: Vivian

Vivis a gem. I met her last year. Then I read her testimony on her Kiitan’s blog beginning of this year and was completely blown away.

_____

It’s a New Year. Well, of course. I mean, We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t. Isn’t. It’s still here. Or something. I’ll shut up now.

So. New Year. New Me. New Beginning. New yada yada yada. Be quiet.

Can you tell that I’m having a conversation with myself? Ugh. I should stop.

I have hopes. Dreams. Expectations. Have you ever had your hopes and dreams and expectations struggle with the Father’s Will before? No? Hmm. ( ._.)

Ah Well. Moving on…

Here’s a brief summary of the weather forecast from my family:

I’ve been told I’ll get married this year. Like as if na like so. No. This is not lowkey tension. ( -_- )

I’ve been told I’ll start driving this year. – Well, when or if  I can summon courage.

I’ve been told I’ll get fat this year. – Lol. They don’t know my trainer. All that Pandamonium havoc that he’ll use my body for. Wait. No. That didn’t come out right. Filth.

Well, I’m already fatter. This time last year? I was almost a skeleton. My bones had merged with my skin. Sick. Healed. Thanks to Luminus and the ever caring Panda.

I have a better job. So, the career is flying. Flying high. I’m so elated.

My darling Manchester United is the only thing I have cried for this year. No more tears.

I want to start dancing. My skelewu is on-point, thanks. However,  the Waltz should stop being my nickname for Walt Disney and become something I can actually do. Ugh. Time to call on Slim. Hmph.

I want to go back to that childlike faith, that unashamed love with the Father. I got so caught up in doing my Martha duties, I forgot what it was like to be Mary again. Down at Your feet…

I want to Live, Laugh, Love so hard this year. Do the extraordinary. Excel. Grow. Shine. Bless. Bless. Bless. Heal, not curse.

So far, this year. I’ve been blessed by two things: Ordinary People by Cobhams and this Scripture,
Galatians 5:22 MSG

But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.

My life isn’t perfect but, boyyyyyy, I’m grateful. So grateful.

To me, may the promise of my name be fulfilled this year, and always.

To my friends, I’ll try harder this year. Be less self-absorbed. Be more into us.

Ade Mi… Kiitan. That’s the Lord’s promise.

To my family, blessings in our fields. Amen.

As for you, 2014 marks the beginning of your Beat Years. Believe it. Act upon it. You can do anything!  Yes, Yes, You can.

Shine!

…Ire.
